About the Foundation

The Lake County Extension Foundation was founded in 1981 by friends of Extension as a way to provide an avenue in which individuals and organizations could donate gifts/money toward the future needs of Extension. As Federal, State and County governments were experiencing tight budgets, the Foundation was a way that funds may be raised and the budget balanced. The Foundation must retain and endow twenty percent of its annual income with the long term goal of the Foundation to accumulate an endowment large enough to provide stable funding for ongoing programs and of particular interest, personnel salaries. This would provide solid funding from year to year and employee stability.
